Fine in decorated light brown cloth covered boards with blind stamping on the front board, gilt text on the spine and map end papers. A small octavo of 8 by 5 3/8 inches. In a near fine unclipped dust jacket with just a hint of soiling to the spine area. A special "Presentation Edition" page tipped-in behind the first free end page and signed by the author. The ninth volume in the American Procession Series and subtitled: Spearheads of Empire. 335 pages including an index followed by a map key.

In a very good+ dust jacket with the price clipped from the front flap and with some flecking of the colors at the ends of the spine area but no chipping. The 6th volume in the American Procession Series. 527 pages including an index, bibliography, text and a section of photographs. (Adams-Herd 2004)

    Sandoz, Mari:  Crazy Horse The Strange Man of The Oglalas.  New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1942. First Edition, First Printing. Near fine in tan cloth covered boards with red and blue decorations on the spine and front board. An octavo measuring 8 1/2" by 5 1/2" with the cloth in the gutter of the front joint foxed due to a reaction with the glue used in the production of the book. The front end paper shows similar foxing in the hinge areas due to the same issue. There are no ownership marks, labels or book plates. In a very good- price clipped dust jacket with very shallow chipping across the upper and lower edges of the spine area and nicks at the fore corners of the panels and a a 3/4" deep by 1 1/4" long chip at the lower edge of the front panel and with the rear panel slightly soiled. 428 pages with the fold-out map at the front of the book.

In a very near fine dust jacket with the price intact on the front flap but with the spine area slightly faded. "A novel based on the lives of John Jackson Cozad and Robert Herri." 333 pages of text.

Very good+ in light gray cloth covered boards with dark red text on the spine without the typical tanning to the end papers. In a very good-, price clipped dust jacket with a tiny 1/8 inch chip from the upper edge of the front panel and two very small areas of rubbing to the lower edge of the spine area A novel covering the three generations of the Stone family from 1866. One of the more un-common early titles by Sandoz. A nice copy in its fragile dust jacket with no prior ownership marks, names, dates or notations.
