Very near fine in bright yellow cloth covered boards with black text on the spine with the first free end paper tanned due to a news clipping having been laid-in. In a very good dust jacket with a 1/4" chip at the upper edge of the spine area a mild 1/2" ink stain on the rear panel and lightly rubbed at the edges and folds. Overall a very handsome copy. Interestingly the top line on the copyright page has been blackened-out with narrow tape no doubt by the publisher.

    Michener, James A.:  My Lost Mexico.  Austin: State House Press, 1992. First Edition, First Printing. Fine in red cloth covered boards with gilt text stamping on the spine. A small quarto measuring 10 by 7 inches with old glue stains on the fixed end sheets where the jacket flap were once fixed. In a fine, unclipped (no price) dust jacket with corresponding glue stains on the verso ends of the flaps. The story of Michener's efforts to find his lost manuscript for the book Mexico which was written in the 1960's and his search to develop self-confidence. 165 pages of text.

An octavo measuring 8 1/4" by 5 1/2". Illustrated with nine color paintings by James B. Wyeth. This is the limited edition published by the Girard Bank with the letter "To Shareholders and Friends:" laid-in.

    Michener, James:  Tales of the South Pacific.  Franklin Center: Franklin Library, 1986. Franklin Library Edition. Fine in dark blue leather covered boards with gilt text and decorations stamped between four raised bands on the spine. With gilt tool work on both boards and marbled paper end sheets. The edges of the text block are in gilt and there is a silk placement ribbon sewn into the binding. Michener won a Pulitzer for this title in 1948. One of the volumes from The Franklin LIbrary's collection of The Pulitzer Prize Classics. 415 pages of text with illustrations by Philippe Weisbecker.

Near fine with a hardly noticable 1/2 inch dampstain on the upper edge of the spine and edge of the front board & prior owner's stamp on FEP. In a very good+ dust jacket lightly worn and flecked at the base of the spine area and corners of the panels rubbed and flecked. This is the first state of the first edition which can be identified by mention of the play South Pacific on the rear flap of the dust jacket. All other states fail to mention this famous musical adaptation of Michener's earlier work.
