    Bligh, William:  A Voyage to the South Seas.  New York: The Limited Editions Club, 1975. Limited Edition. Fine in light tan buckram with a gilt on black leather title label on the spine and light brown illustrations on the front and rear boards. A folio measuring 14" by 9 1/2" with map end sheets. In a very good+ glassine dust jacket with a 1" closed tear over the spine area. The book and its jacket are contained within a fine black, paper covered slip case. One of only 2,000 copies printed, this copy noted as number 881 on the last page of text whereon the illustrator and book designer have signed their names. 150 pages of text illustrated with four color plates and drawings by Geoffrey C. Ingleton and with an introduction by Alan Villiers. The full title reads: "A Voyage to the South Seas Undertaken by Command of His majesty for the purpose of conveying the Bread-Fruit Tree to the West Indies in His Majesty's Ship Bounty commanded by Lieutenant William Bligh including an account of the Mutiny on board the said ship and the subsequent voyage of part of the crew in the ship's boat from Tofoa, one of the Friendly Islands, to Timor, a Dutch Settlement in the East Indies." A beautiful, clean, crisp and tight copy with no marks, notations or prior owner's book plates.

    Brooks, Van Wyck:  The Flowering Of New England.  Boston: The Limited Editions Club, 1941. Limited Edition. Near fine in heavily embossed with oak leaves on dark green cloth covered boards with gilt text on the spine. A small quarto of 10 by 7 inches with the top edge of the text block stained a dark red. Without a dust jacket as issued, but the book is contained in a good+, black, paper covered slipcase with a paper label on its spine. One of only 1,500 copies numbered and signed by the illustrator. This copy is out of series as it lacks a number, but it is signed by Ray J. Holden and marked "Printer's Copy" at the lower margin of the limitation page. 468 pages including an index and illustrated throughout with drawings by R. J. Holden. Originally published in 1936 this title won the Pulitzer Prize in history in 1937. It is one of the few which has been continually republished since.

Fine in 1/2 black leather and stripped buckram cloth covered boards with gilt text and rules on the spine. A small quarto measuring 10 1/2" by 7 1/2" with a prior owner's address label on the rear paste down. Without its issued glassine dust jacket; however, the book is contained within a fine paper covered slipcase showing no rubbing, wear, dents, dings, cracks in the joints or wear. One of only 2,000 copies printed with this copy identified as number 969 and signed by the illustrator, Simon Abeles, on the colophon. 105 pages of text illustrated with copper etchings. A beautiful edition of the author's first novel the first edition of which he published himself under a pseudonym. A very fine, tight and clean copy with no prior ownership markings of any kind.

A small quarto of 10 by 7 inches with chips to the surface of the leather over the spine. Without a dust jacket; however the book is contained within its original, very good, paper covered slip case. One of only 1,500 copies printed with this copy identified as number 373 and this copy is signed by the illustrator. 55 pages of text with color illustrations by Edward A. Wilson.     Irving, Washingon:  Rip Van Winkle A Posthumous Writing Of Diedrich Knickerbocker.  New York: Limited Editions Club, 1930. . Very good in full dark green leather covered boards with gilt text stamping on the spine. A small quarto measuring 9 3/4" by 6 1/2" with the top edge of the text block gilt and with the leather on the spine faded to a dark tan and with rubbing and light wear to the edges of the boards. Without a dust jacket and missing its original slip case. One of only 1,500 copies printed with this copy identified as number 326 and signed by Frederick W. Goudy the type designer. 57 pages with occasional line art illustrations by Felix Darley.

    La Fontaine, Jean De:  The Fables of Jean De La Fontaine.  New York: Limited Editions Club, 1930. Limited Edition. Both volumes of this complete, two volume set are in fine condition in dark blue cloth covered boards with gilt text and decorations on the spine and a gilt seal on the front board. Both are octavos of 8 9/16 by 5 1/2 inches Volume 1 is still covered by its original glassine dust jacket which is in very good shape; however, the jacket for volume number 2 is quite tattered and in poor condition. Both volumes are contained within a fine, paper covered slipcase with a printed paper label on the spine end. Both the slipcase and volume number 2 are identified as copy number 78 of 1,500 copies and volume 2 is signed by the illustrator Rudolph Ruzicka. Volume 1 contains 265 pages and illustrated with a frontispiece and decorations by Rudolph Ruzicka. Volume 2 contains 399 pages and is similarly illustrated as above. The text has been translated from the French by Joseph Auslander and Jacques Le Clercq.

Holden. 327 pages of text with illustrations within the text by R. J. Holden. With an introduction by Charles R. Anderson. Laid-in at the front of the book is the publisher's 8 page monthly letter describing this title.

Without a dust jackets as issued; however the books are contained within a fine, paper covered slip case with a printed label on the spine end of the slip case. With an introduction by JeanJules-Verne and illustrations by Robert Shore. One of only 1,500 copies printed with this copy identified as number 969 and signed by the illustrator, Robert Shore. From the Earth to the Moon 206 pages with 8 color plates. Around the Moon contains pages 207 to 425 and is illustrated with 8 color plates. A beautiful copy with no prior ownership markings of any kind.
